Saanen Goats

2024 LA at 1.5 yrs of age: GGA 83. Old-English Remington joins our herd as a result of the 2023 ADGA Spotlight Sale in Tulsa, OK. Many thanks to Carol Mann for breeding generations of beautiful Saanens. We have high hopes for Remington this fall and in years to come. If his daughters look and perform anything like the does in his pedigree, we will be elated. We hope to get Remington collected this fall.

Winstead come to us from Dr. Laurie Acton of Tempo Passa. When I saw a photo of his dam, Solo, I thought those genetics might work well in our herd. Then looking at Solo's production and extended pedigree... done deal! Winstead will be used a lot this fall. About Solo: Solo was born as a much anticipated IVF kid with a big pedigree. A daughter of SGCH des Ruhigestelle WinClimber 4*M FS94, Solo is a full sibling to both SGCH WinWalker ('17 Res Nat Champion and 4,600 lbs milk), and +*B Social Climber (sire of Ranea Social Issues, '19 National Champion). We also have Solo's litter brother, WinRuler, whose first daughter earned her GCH and scored FS91 at 3 yrs. As expected, Solo matured slowly and steadily, continuously milking well as she grew. As a yearling, she averaged 11.5 lbs of milk for 532 days, for a 6120 record. Now 4 yrs old, she has over 13,000 lbs lifetime already. She is currently projected over 4500 lbs and tested 15 lbs on her last test in October. Two days later she scored FS93 EEEE! Solo hasn't been shown until this year, when she handily finished her GCH in two weekends. To top all that, she is confirmed bred to +*B Vineyard View Hops by first service natural AI! Productive, correct and beautiful, and easy to milk with a sweet personality, Solo is the type of doe that would work in a show or production herd.

Rosaleen is a Rosemary X Summit daughter. This is a repeat breeding that produced some wonderful does a few years ago. We are excited to be working with this combination again.

Ranalt is a growthy Summit daughter. We are excited with the results we are seeing from Summit X Remington crosses and having our strong Rosemary dam line as the foundation is the icing on the cake.

Ryanne is a growthy Summit X Rosemary daughter. She exhibits all the wonderful qualities of her pedigree and we cannot wait to see her fresh in 2026.

2025 is another steady year for Rosemary. Often the top producer in the barn, the absolute best attitude, and prolific with 2 more daughters in the herd. We could not ask for more from a doe that has become a true foundation. Rosemary has developed a tendency for quads! Again in 2023, she delivered beautiful kids, 1 doe included. As of our first milk test in 2023, Rosemary is our highest producer, over 14 pounds just weeks into her lactation. 2023 Linear Appraisal: VEEE 90. Excellent Back & Rump. Rosemary outdid herself with freshening with quads in 2022, three of them being does. We intend to keep these special girls here for a while, in the hopes that they combine all the best traits from Rosemary and Summit. Rosemary is maturing into her 2nd lactation and her mammary still looks and performs wonderfully. We waited to freshen Rosemary as a 2 year old in 2021, and finally we have been rewarded. She had a tough kidding and slowly came into milk. By the end of her first lactation, the mammary that has developed is a wonder to see. 2021 Linear Appraisal: VVEV 88.

Raagan was a kid that just quietly says "look at me!" You can't take your eyes off her in the pen of kids. Being a Rosemary daughter, we are thrilled to have her stay in our herd. As a milking yearling, she has been working hard in the parlor and growing too. She has all the qualities we've become accustom to seeing in Remington daughters. The future will be exciting for her.

Arentina was just a pretty package as a kid. Her dam, Rhyme, had been one of my favorite young does, and I look forward to watching Arentina progress in our herd. As a milking yearling, Arentina is very stylish as well as productive. This shining star will be fun to watch.
